Serial Burglars Who Struck In Pleasant Hill Arrested: Police

Investigators in neighboring Lafayette used surveillance footage to identify the pair.

PLEASANT HILL, CA — A pair of prolific burglars who police say committed crimes in Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Orinda, Benicia, Sacramento, and Butte County has been arrested, according to Lafayette Police Chief Ben Alldritt.

Alldritt said the pair, whose names have not been released, committed at least nine burglaries, five attempted burglaries, and three bicycle thefts at Lafayette businesses in mid-February. He said they also stole multiple credit cards and made fraudulent purchases on the cards.

Investigators identified the man and woman by checking surveillance footage.

"With the assistance of a local Law Enforcement agency, the female was detained on February 25th," Alldritt said in a message to the community, "but the male slipped through the hands of authorities once again. On Saturday March 6th, the luck ran out for the outstanding male suspect and he was apprehended in Sacramento during a burglary in progress."

The pair used a crowbar to break into businesses after hours, according to Alldritt.
