The group recommends that the Pleasant Hill attorney's license to practice law be taken away.

PLEASANT HILL, CA — The State Bar of California has recommended that a Pleasant Hill lawyer be disbarred after he was arrested for child pornography violations. James Kroetch, 67, was arrested in March 2013 for alleged child pornography possession and distribution. Authorities found 9,000 images and 3,000 videos at his residence, according to state bar records online.

Kroetch pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges for child pornography in January 2016, according to state bar records.

The group recommended that his license be revoked on March 5. He has not been able to practice law in California since his interim suspension on Oct. 9, 2017.
