Teenagers Texting and Driving is A Deadly Combination

As a psychotherapist who works with teenagers, I often have parents ask me about teenagers and driving. Most parents are concerned about is their teenager mature enough to handle the responsibility associated with driving. Also many parents worry about safety issues. One common issue is texting and driving.

In The Know made a video about texting and driving and the consequences associated with it. I have included a link so you can watch this video.

I strongly recommend that parents watch this video with their teenagers. After, I encourage you to have a discussion with your teen about safe driving habits. I also encourage you and your teenager to both pledge not to text or use your cellphone while driving. Many parents text and drive too. It is mportant to set a good example and live what you preach.
