Xtreme Scaffolding is Contra Costa County Small Biz of the Year

Senator Bill Dodd recognized the firm as Senate District Three small business of the year for 2018

MARTINEZ – Mike and Lissa Slaney have done well since cashing in their retirement savings nine years ago to open their company, Xtreme Scaffolding. And they’ve made it a point to give back to the community. Xtreme has constructed stages for annual fundraisers, steps for the winter snow park and a 50-foot frame for the downtown holiday ice rink banner. At a recent car race, Mike Slaney, an amateur racer, gave away 200 pairs of children’s sunglasses.

“When I opened in 2009, I said if I can succeed and make this work, I’m going to give back to the people who helped me along the way,” Mike Slaney said. “To me, a life-long Martinez resident, that’s what you have to do.”

In recognition of Mike and Lissa Slaney’s success and generosity, Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, has named Xtreme Scaffolding the Senate District Three small business of the year for 2018 for Contra Costa County.

“As a businessman myself, I admire the Slaneys’ entrepreneurial spirit and their willingness to help their community,” Senator Dodd said. “They’ve made a great contribution to Martinez and should be proud of their achievement.”
