A fireplace not only can warm your toes, it can also heat up the price of your house.

A story on ehow.com says a fireplace is one of the top six features an appraiser looks for when determining the value of a home.

So, with that in mind and the weather getting cooler and the days getting shorter, we thought we'd look at homes for sale in the San Ramon Valley and Tri-Valley that have at least one fireplace.

In Danville, this five-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom house at 14 Alamo Springs Court has fireplaces in the dining room, living room and master bedroom.

The 5,251-square-foot home on a half-acre is listed at $1.6 million.

In Pleasanton, this four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom house at 1517 Ridgewood Road has a fireplace in the family room.

The 2,047-square-foot home on a seventh of an acre is listed at $859,999.

In San Ramon, this five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom house at 400 Camberly Court has fireplaces in the family room and living room.

The 4,741-square-foot home on a third of an acre is listed at $1.8 million.
