5 Things: Mad Science, Hot Dogs and Wine

Think you have an solution for Ramona's schools? One blogger wants to hear them.

1. Can Ramona's schools be saved? One blogger, on the behalf of the Committee for a Better Ramona, asks for the community’s thoughts on some options available to work toward a resolution of this critical issue, which we will then pass on to area decision makers.

2. Things get crazy at the Ramona library this afternoon with Mad Science. Kiddos can learn about nutrition in a fun — and crazy — way at 1 p.m. at 1275 Main Street.

3. With a growing wine industry, future vintners of Ramona may be interested in gaining a certificate in Spanish wines at SDSU's newest vino course. Discounts are offered if you register before July 25 and classes start in August.

4. Whether you have friends visiting town or just want to learn more about Ramona's offerings, there's Visit Ramona Facebook page — a place to learn about some cool hidden treasures in town and some upcoming events (like wine tasting!).

5. Do you relish in indulging in snack foods? May we suggest taking full advantage of today's weird holiday: Hot Dog Day. Grill up an all-beef frank or experiment with beer-soaked sausages on the grill. Is there a place in town that serves up the ballpark fare? Tell us in the comments!
