5 Things: Ramona Country Fair, Updated Emergency Contacts and Ice Cream

Ramona's local brewery is serving up various floats tonight.

1. Ramona's Country Fair begins tonight! Admission to the four-day fair is free and ride tickets can be purchased at the event. The fair opens at 5 p.m. at the Ramona Outdoor Community Center. Ramona Idol Quarter Finals will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the event.

2. The San Diego County Sheriff's department has issued an updated list of important telephone numbers during an emergency for Ramona residents. Visit http://goo.gl/b7gUvO for a complete list of emergency numbers.

3. Ramona Patch blogger Dave Patterson gives his thoughts on drones and domestic surveillance. Read what he has to say about it all from the perspective as a member of the San Diego Veterans For Peace.

4. Play some games and have an adult beer float (minus the root). ChuckAlek Ind. Brewers invites families to their tasting room at 2330 Main St. on Thursdays for board games (bring your favorite!) and adult floats made with their Baltic Porter. A specially-crafted root beer is also available for the kiddos. The tasting room is open from 3-9 p.m. tonight.

5. Nothing screams summer quite like cold, refreshing ice cream. The Ramona Library is giving a special presentation on the sweet treat at The Science of Ice Cream: SubZero Ice Cream. Free ice cream will be available for the first 150 kids and the presentation begins at 1 p.m.
