Excessive Heat Warning Issued For Ramona

Weather officials urged residents to "know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke."

RAMONA, CA — A heat wave will continue Tuesday in San Diego County, prompting the National Weather Service to issue an excessive heat warning for parts of the region.

The warning is in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday through 9 p.m. Friday for the county valleys, including the town of Ramona.

Temperatures are expected from 98 to 105 degrees Tuesday in the inland valleys, gradually cooling to 92 to 98 degrees Saturday, according to the NWS.

"Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities," forecasters said.

The NWS urged residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Weather officials also reminded residents that young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.

"Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke," forecasters said. "Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 911."
