Family Displaced After Fire Rips Through Ramona Home
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to help the family of four arrange for temporary lodging.
RAMONA, CA — A family of four was displaced Tuesday when a predawn fire tore through its Ramona home and caused an estimated $500,000 in damage, authorities said.
The non-injury blaze was reported around 12:35 a.m. on Abalar Way west of Daza Drive in the San Diego Country Estates, said Cal Fire San Diego spokesman Thomas Shoots.
Crews responded to the scene and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the one-story home, which was roughly 2,200 square feet, Shoots said.

The fire was contained to 75 percent of the structure, he said, adding that the garage, kitchen, attic and several vehicles were damaged.

The blaze caused an estimated $500,000 in damage to the structure and its contents, Shoots said.
The origin of the fire was under investigation.
