Leila M. Boeckel, of Ramona, died October 24 due to complications from surgery, according to a Ramona Sentinel obituary.
Born in Glasgow, Montana, she moved to San Diego with her family as a child, married in 1954 and raised her own family. She had a 30-year career with the San Diego Unified School district as a teacher and librarian at at Morse, La Jolla, Kearny and Serra high schools.
Leila loved to read novels and historical books. She is remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.
