You Might See a Llama or You Might See 'The Thing' at Trick or Treat on Main
About 1,500 children are expected to take part in the annual chamber of commerce event on Monday.
Ramona's downtown is getting spooked out in preparation for the annual Trick or Treat on Main Street, which will actually be on the day of Halloween this year.
This time, there'll be a twist.
"The Thing."

We're not telling.
Because we don't know.
"It has really captured the imagination," said Arvie Degenfelder, speaking of The Thing at the Ramona Revitalization Committee meeting Friday. Degenfelder was representing Carol Fowler, a Ramona Chamber of Commerce director, at the meeting. "Everyone has to pay a small fee and it's a fundraiser for the mural project," she told County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, who chaired the meeting. "And people can not tell anyone else what The Thing is, after they've been through," she said, with a smile.
Town and Country has a big sign about The Thing on its building at the corner of 10th and Main streets. The entrance fee is 50 cents.
Trick or Treat on Main Street is sponsored by .
"We're so excited that it is actually on this year, because the idea originally was to provide a safe way for kids to go trick or treating," said Barbara Worden at the chamber.
About 1,500 young people are expected again, and that means 3,000 to 5,000 pieces of candy, Worden estimated.
Trick-or-treating will be from 3 to 6 p.m., from 5th Street to the shopping center.
Ramona might be one of the few places in San Diego county where you could see a llama going down Main Street's sidewalk with trick-or-treaters.
It happened last year.
Anything's possible this year, so ... beware ... especially of The Thing.
