The two-hour workshop on Aug. 17 will focus on budget forecasts and encourages feedback from residents.

The Ramona Unified school board is holding a two-hour community workshop this weekend, focusing on various options to improve the long-term fiscal health of the district, officials announced.

District staff will give presentations on the RUSD budget forecasts and community members will have an opportunity to speak afterward.

The school board said they are looking forward to hearing community recommendations related to:

• Selling district property
• Closing schools
• Floating another school bond
• Reducing operating costs
• Reducing energy costs
• Reducing transportation services
• Other significant ideas for addressing fiscal challenges.

The two-hour workshop will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Performing Arts Center at Olive Peirce Middle School, 1521 Hanson Lane. For more information, residents can call the Office of the Superintendent at 760-787-2007.
