Readers Choose Just-N-Time Deli for Best Sandwich in Ramona

In just four months, Just-N-Time Deli in the Albertson's Center has won a lot of hearts in Ramona, if you figure the way to someone's heart is through the belly.
as the best place to find a sandwich in town.
The family-owned deli opened on Nov. 1, 2011, offering sandwiches, smoked chicken and ribs, with sweet potato fries as well as regular fries.

Owner Art Candland told Patch that he believes they won the town's favor because they offer "great food and great service."
"I believe if you give people a great product for a reasonable price, they'll return, and they have," he said."We have a client base."

"We're not a fast food service," he said. "We custom smoke our meats on site. We're perhaps not for someone who needs a sandwich in 3 minutes. But if people are willing to wait for good food, it's worth the wait."
Customers, however, can call in orders to go, at 760-788-6184.
Just-N-Time offers about 10 sandwiches and Candland said that if they don't have what hungry visitors want, they'll custom make it.
Sandwiches include pulled pork, tri tip, pastrami and swiss cheese, pepper steak, Reuben, turkey and BLT. Just-N-Time also serves breakfast sandwiches. On Friday and Saturday nights, the deli offers smoked chicken and rib meals.
Co-owners are Art's wife Michelle Candland and their son Justin Humbert, a Ramona resident. Humbert manages the deli.
Candland said he has owned and operated chain barbecue and restaurant establishments before, but this deli is the first one of its kind he has owned. He said he operated 26 Burger Kings in four states at one point. He currently has a business in La Mesa called Trust Employee Administration and Management, which does nationwide business.
Just-N-Time Deli is at 1415 Main Street. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. They are closed Sunday and Monday.
