Results of Strike Vote by Ramona Teachers Union Expected by 7 p.m.

Approval would authorize leaders of Ramona Teachers Association to call a walkout against district.

Results of the Ramona Teachers Association strike-authorization vote were expected by 7 p.m. Wednesday, a state union official said.

Voting at Ramona High School began Tuesday, which would give the union’s executive board permission to call a strike.

The vote came after a year and a half of failed negotiations between the Ramona Unified School District and the union, resulting in board-imposed cuts of about 9 percent of salary wages at the end of April.
