Stars Station Listed as Cheapest Locally as Prices Continue Recent Plunge

Average price in county has fallen 20 cents over the past 11 days, including 2.7 cents Thursday,

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell 4.2 cents Friday to $4.525, the largest drop in 11 consecutive days of declines. In Ramona, the best price was reported at the Stars Station at 1910 Main Street—at $4.35 a gallon.

All other gas stations town were at $4.39, except for Chevron which was at $4.49.

The average price countywide has declined 20 cents over the past 11 days, including 2.7 cents on Thursday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price
Information Service.

The average price is 16.2 cents less than one week ago, but 39.8 cents more than one month ago and 64.1 cents higher than one year ago.

“Oil industry analysts reported significant drops in the wholesale market on Wednesday which, if they hold, should bring prices well below $4 a gallon,” said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California. “The only question is how quickly that will happen.”
