BOOK NOOK REOPENING at the 4S Ranch Library

The Friends of the 4S Ranch Library celebrate their annual meeting, Book Nook Reopening and special award for Mary Karscig.

On January 15th, the Friends of the 4S Ranch Library celebrated having a new location inside the 4S Ranch Library for the "sales" Book Nook. We had the honor to do a red ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Board Members, library staff, community members & some very special guests, Migell Acosta - San Diego County Library Director & Jacqueline Ayala - San Diego County Library Supervisor. The Book Nook has gently used books (for adults, young adults and kids) for sale as a permanent fundraiser to support many library programs like: Family Yoga, Zumba, Kids Fitness, Chess Club, Art Classes with Miss Kelly, Talk Like a Pirate Day, Eid Celebration, Diwali Festival, Star Wars Reads Day, Halloween, December Holiday Event, Chinese New Year, Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration, Nowruz, Dia de los Niños, Teen Tuesdays, Teen Lock-Ins, Summer Reading Programs and Supplies, Magazines, Story Time Supplies, etc.

On the same day we also held our annual meeting where the 2020 Board of Directors took office as follows:

May Lin - President

We also took the opportunity to present Mary Karscig with a special award for her unconditional service to the Friends of the 4S Ranch Library, for over more then 10 years she has served as a Board Member continuously and she is also the Founding President creating a non-profit organization to support the back then newly opened 4S Ranch Library. Over a decade later she is still advocating for the 4S Ranch Library, she plans to remain active with the Friends of the 4S Ranch Library to overlook the efforts of promoting a library expansion more fitting to the size and needs of the community.
We invite the community to look for our Book Nook next time they visit the 4S Ranch Library, we have a brand new banner that hopefully will help library patrons identify and differentiate the "sales" Book Nook from the regular library shelves. The Friends of the 4S Ranch Library goal is that most library patrons know about it so they can take advantage of the good deals while supporting their local library. We love our 4S Ranch Library and we invite the whole community to show their love too, there are so many ways to help even volunteering your time. Connect with us and learn more about the Friends of the 4S Ranch Library and how to support your local library.
