Discovery Concert Series This Month at Rancho Bernardo Library

New series to provide insights into classical music and composers by local musicians.

Classical music enthusiasts have a new series of concerts available starting January 23 at the Rancho Bernardo Branch Library. To kick off the Discovery Concert Series (DCS), which complements the popular jazz and chamber music concerts at the library, the first performance features an intriguing array of music for violin, piano and guitar.

Violinist Gregory Lawrence and pianist Joanne Stohs will perform sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven. Gregory will then team with Ian Lawrence in works arranged for violin and guitar followed by the magical spell of Spanish Dance and an edgy Tango. The concert is 3 pm Saturday, January 23, in the Community Room at the Rancho Bernardo Library. There is no charge for this concert.

This new concert series was created to expand the opportunity for talented area musicians to perform in public. Many of the musicians are also music educators and will enhance the programs by offering insights into the music, the composers and the performers. For more information on the RBLFriends concerts and our mission to support our local library, please visit our website at http://www.friendsoftheranchobernardolibrary.org/.
