Firefighters In RB-4s Ranch 'Fill The Boot' For Burn Institute

SAN DIEGO, CA — Firefighters on Thursday will be stationed at more than 100 traffic intersections throughout San Diego County for the annual Boot Drive to help raise money for the Burn Institute of San Diego-Imperial Counties.

This year, firefighters from 30 departments will hit the streets with their boots to collect donations from 6:30 to 9 a.m. at major intersections throughout the region, including in Rancho Bernardo and 4s Ranch.

The proceeds will be used for the San Diego-based organization's burn prevention education and burn survivor support services such as Camp Beyond the Scars for burn-injured children. In addition, a portion of the Boot Drive donations will be used to sustain the Red Line of Courage Fund, designed to provide financial support to members of the fire service who sustain a burn injury while on duty.
