RB Chorale, Dance and Snakes Lure You Into the Weekend

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! The unofficial kick start to summer is here. 

Journey through music with the RB Chorale. Explore slithering, legless reptiles or use your senses to hike through the Blue Sky Reserve.

'OUR JOURNEY IN SONG' PRESENTED BY RB CHORALE 

• What’s Up: RB Chorale will perform musical hits from Broadway and movies. Performances will feature three high school finalists competing for RB Chorale college scholarships.
  
• When: 7 p.m. on Friday, May 24 and Saturday, May 25.
  
• Where: Poway Center for the Performing Arts ,15498 Espola Rd., Poway.
  
• Price: $20 General Admission; $18 Seniors/Students/Military; $5 Kids under 12. 

• What’s Up: VFW Poway Post 7907 will host a weekend picnic. Hamburgers, hot dogs and bbq fixins will be provided. 
  
• When: 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. 
  
• Where: 12342 Old Pomerado Rd., Poway. 
  
• Price: Free; donations are welcome.

• What’s Up: Ever wanted to get up close and personal with snakes? Learn all about snakes, what they eat and how they survive.
  
• When: 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 25.
  
• Where: Goodan Ranch Sycamore Canyon Preserve, 16281 Sycamore Canyon Rd., Poway.
  
• Price: Free. 
  

• What’s Up: See, hear, touch and smell your way through the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve. The Reserve will host a sensory hike led by docent Dave Meier. 
  
• When: 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 25. 
  
• Where: Blue Sky Ecological Reserve, 16275 Espola Rd., Poway. 
  
• Price: Free. 
  

• What’s Up: Artists Anonymous Entertainment will present a minor dance competition. The show will feature the art of dance through exhibition and competition.
  
• When: 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 26.
