On June 17, 2021, the Vista Community Oriented Policing Team (COPPS) in conjunction with the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force (SD HTTF) conducted a demand reduction operation, in the City of Vista, targeting sex buyers and traffickers. The Vista COPPS Team and SD HTTF arrested a total of 10 adult males, who were released via a citation, for being in violation of "Solicitation of Prostitution." One adult male was also arrested for "Arranging a Meeting with a Minor for Lewd Purpose" and was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.

The San Diego Sheriffs Department is committed to combating human trafficking by recovering victims and holding their offenders accountable, while also addressing the demand side of the problem. Sex buyers drive the demand for human trafficking, which results in an increase of offenders and victims, and contributes to negative consequences victims of human trafficking endure.
