Public health meeting to focus on the recent Hep A/flu outbreak and future prevention measures.

The San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (SDHHS) will address the recent Hep A and flu outbreak at a community meeting on public health services from 7 pm to 8:30 pm Thursday, April 12, at the Poway City Council Chambers. Sheila Rinker, SDHHS Public Health Nurse, will talk about the preparedness and response to the recent Hep A and flu outbreak in San Diego County and how SDHHS responded to the high level of incidents occurring in the county. She will also discuss their day-to-day planning for prevention of widespread health events and measures individuals and local communities can take to precaution. This meeting is presented by the nonprofit Poway Neighborhood Emergency Corps that works to complement the City of Poway Emergency Operations Plan through a grass roots communication network of neighbors.
