Big 10 College Fair At Santa Margarita High School
Santa Margarita High School helped students to get to the next level of education, introducing them to officials from Big 10 schools.
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Santa Margarita Catholic High School recently hosted a Big Ten College Fair that was open to families throughout Orange County, helping parents and students understand more about the future and what they'll need to get to where they want to go.
Twelve of the 14 Big Ten schools were represented at the event by their admissions counselors who oversee Southern California applications.
The event began with a panel presentation where each counselor briefly described the attributes of their particular university and then answered questions pertaining to the college admissions process.

Approximately 250-300 guests were in attendance. All learned how the respective colleges view various aspects of the application, academic profile, and personal statement. The counselors also offered perspectives about the college experience at their particular universities.

SMCHS Director of College Relations Christa Crafts was pleased the school was able to offer this informative evening.
“Partnering with the Big 10 colleges has enabled Santa Margarita Catholic High School to provide greater college access and options to our students and the Orange County community," Crafts said. "The college admissions counselors were able to connect with students and provide individualized advice on particular schools while also offering insight into the college admissions process as a whole.”
Santa Margarita will continue to creatively develop similar events and making the Big 10 College Fair an annual event.
