Carson Palmer Inducted Into College Football Hall Of Fame 2021

The USC alumni and Santa Margarita Catholic High School graduate has added another feather in his cap.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Quarterback Carson Palmer, who hails from Santa Margarita Catholic High School before his record-setting four years at USC, has entered the College Football Hall of Fame for the class of 2021.

Palmer earned the Heisman Trophy in 2002 and started as the USC quarterback for four years. He is the 45th USC player to earn a place in the College Football Hall of Fame.

According to Sports Illustrated, Palmer set the USC and Pac-10 records for career passing yards, with 11,818 yards in 53 games. He returned to USC for a 5th season in 2002 after suffering a broken collarbone, sitting out for a redshirt season in 1999.

At Santa Margarita Catholic High School, Palmer was the starting quarterback for two years.

"He was All-Everything and finished by having his jersey retired after being named Division V Co-Offensive MVP and two straight CIF championships," according to the Santa Margarita Eagle Alumni website.

Palmer went on to USC on a full scholarship, broke numerous records, and attained the highest honor, the Heisman Trophy.

He was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals and has played for the Oakland Raiders and the Phoenix Cardinals in the NFL.

Palmer went on to play in the NFL for 15 years.
