RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — California living can mean many things to people — but there's one thing that Rancho Santa Margarita folks can't handle — it's saying we live in "Cali."

You might hear "Cali" as a nickname for the Golden State, but in Rancho Santa Margarita, people totally don't love it.

Other top misconceptions are that everyone who lives in California is a liberal, and endures a constant daily threat of earthquakes.

Kellly Elizabeth chimed said that she dislikes it when people say Orange County and California residents still talk like "Valley Girl" from the 80s.

Surfing, skateboarding and dietary habits were further stereotypes people in Rancho Santa margarita pointed out.

"That we all surf or skateboard," Marisha Fusco said.

Christie Watts agreed, adding that her beef is with people who think all Orange County residents are rich or vegan, as well.

In Orange County, one of the greatest misconceptions of all is that all women who live here live like the "Real Housewives of Orange County."
