Rancho Santa Margarita Youth Football Team Advances to Arizona

The Orange County Santa Margarita Pop Warner Pee Wee Football Team travels to Arizona, in a battle to get to Hawaii for the championships.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — The City of Rancho Santa Margarita celebrates as Santa Margarita Pop Warner Pee Wee Cowboys announce their most recent victory.

"The Pee Wee Cowboys won the Wescon Regional Quarter Finals and have advanced to the Semi-Championship game in Scottsdale, Arizona," Amy Brady said, team manager for the Pee Wee football team.

The Cowboys are comprised of 11- to 13-year-old boys, all residents of South Orange County, coached by Mission Viejo High School Alum, Robert Badraun.

"The boys have developed a high powered rushing attack that has kept them nearly unstoppable this season," Brady said.

Jackson Brady, a 12-year-old Ladera Ranch resident who plays Wide Receiver and Corner for the Cowboys offered his observations.

“We make a really good team together, and I can’t wait to go to Arizona and win and bring home a National Championship from Hawaii," he said. "That’s a once in a lifetime experience.”

The Cowboys football players aren’t the only champions in the organization, Brady said, as their sister cheer team, SMPW Cowboys Cheer also advances to the Regional Finals in Phoenix, Arizona.

The SMPW Cowboys will face the San Diego San Carlos Patriots in Arizona on Sunday, Nov. 21. The team that advances will play against the Oahu Pop Warner Champion in Hawaii on December 3rd.

The SMPW Cowboys are Rayden Allianic, Radyn Badraun, Joey Barbella, Jackson Brady, Gage Burnett, Evan Burnside, Owen Burnside, Giovanni Corado, Jelani Everette, Trent Gilliam, Ian Grogan, Colby Hauser, Drew Kay, Diego Lopez, Ruben Lopez, Marcus Mendoza, Amayas Overstreet, Ethan Pierson, Hunter Sablatura, Mitchell Sanchez, Payson Smith, Hunter Snow, Isaiah Tolmaire and Jackson Wear.
