RSM City Council Candidates
These are the seven people running for the three seats up for grabs.

The 2018 election is on November 6, and at a national level it is the mid-term election, but for our city council that means that three seats are up for election, the other two seats will be up in 2020, they are staggered to prevent a wholesale change of city council in a single election. This year there are two incumbents running for re-election with Mayor Mike Vaughn choosing to not run again after a single term. In addition to the two incumbents, there are five additional candidates running. In the interest of full disclosure, your humble author is one of the candidates. Each candidate below is hyperlinked to their campaign website where available, they are listed in the same order as on the ballot.
- Anne Figueroa
- Jerry Holloway (incumbent)
- Chris McLaughlin
- Brad McGirr (incumbent)
- Shawn Gordon
- Roger Ballard
- Wendy Braun
The picture in the lead is from an informal meet and greet that five of the candidates attended on October 1 and includes (from left to right and front to back) Roger Ballard, Shawn Gordon, Wendy Braun, Chris McLaughlin and Brad McGirr. No candidate forums have been organized by the Chamber of Commerce or other entities at the time of this writing, although the candidates all expressed interest in more of these informal gatherings.
