Santa Margarita Girls Varsity Tennis Falls To Valencia In Round 1

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — This week, Orange County area high school girls tennis teams began their push for CIF Southern Section Playoffs in the season that almost wasn't: Winter 2021.

On Wednesday, the Santa Margarita girls varsity tennis team battled it out vs. Valencia High School at Valencia in a tight matchup, ending their 2021 run at the championships.

Across the county, and the Southland, schools are taking to the courts for their division matchups.

FIRST ROUND (Open Division) on May 14(game times noted on CIF Brackets):

Peninsula vs. Corona Del Mar

Mira Costa vs. La Canada

University vs. Palos Verdes

Westlake vs. Huntington Beach

SECOND ROUND (Division 1-5) on May 14 (game times noted on CIF Brackets):

Beckman High School will play at San Clemente High School

Camarillo High School will play at Valencia High School

Arcadia High School will play at home vs. San Marino High School

South Torrance High School will play at Harvard Westlake High School

Marlborough High School will play at home vs. Yorba Linda High School

Martin Luther King High School will play at home vs. Claremont High School

Mater Dei High School will play at Aliso Niguel High School

Los Osos High School will play at Woodbridge High School

The CIF Southern Section semi-finals are scheduled for May 19, and the CIF Southern Section Finals are slated for play on May 21
