Tesoro High Traffic? This Experiment Worked

In my first blog post I talked about the traffic situation at Tesoro High School.  It seemed to be universally agreed it is one of the worst schools in our district, maybe the entire universe.  I've been doing an experiment the last couple weeks, and if you go to the corner of Oso Parkway and Tesoro Creek Road, you might have noticed the results.  I've had my child walk to the top of the hill to meet me, and while waiting she pushes the cross walk button on the southeast or southwest corner as if she were crossing Oso Parkway, to lengthen the green light for the cars coming out.  Whenever I pick her up, there is no line to get in any more but before this, it could take up to 15 minutes just to get off of Oso and into the driveway.

If everyone can call the school and request they have a proctor just stand up there and push that button for 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon as though they are going to cross Oso Parkway, until public works can be convinced to change the timing of the light, it will make everyone's lives a lot easier.  In the meantime, let your kids know to just push that crosswalk button if they are going to be near it.
