Top Wind Gusts Across Orange County Blow Residents Away

As winds blast across the Southland, here are some of the strongest gusts across inland and coastal Orange County.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Gale winds buffeted most of Orange County throughout Tuesday. While residents hunkered down and battled blowing trash cans, the National Weather Service has recorded wind speeds upwards of 68 miles per hour.

The high wind warning will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Orange County coastal areas. According to the National Weather Service, winds are expected to diminish Thursday through next weekend.

The top wind gusts in the southland were in San Bernardino County Mountains, with winds blowing at 86 miles per hour at Marshall Peak. Beaumont

Chino Hills saw the highest wind speeds at just after 1 p.m., the NWS says.

At the coast, Laguna Beach saw gusts upwards of 46 miles per hour just before 2 p.m.

John Wayne Airport also saw gusts at 36 miles per hour.
