West Wins Game One Of Little League World Series
The West team, Santa Margarita, won big Friday in their first appearance in the Little League World Series against Northwest, Walla Walla.
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Patch Rancho Santa Margarita had a field day watching the West go to work on the Northwest, Friday. The inning by inning update aired live over Facebook, as fans and friends rallied for the boys all the way across the country.
The West enjoyed a 9-0 resounding victory, defeating Northwest on Friday at Lamade Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Fans of the boys in blue gathered around computers and at local restaurants to watch the Santa Margarita All Stars break in their new uniforms and team name with style in a shutout game pitched by Bobby Gray. Bryan Ramirez finished things off, introducing one fly-out from Hayden Lomeli to finish the game in the 6th inning.

Joey Gray drove in five of the nine runs, going two for two at the plate. It was at the bat of Joey Gray that a grand slam cleared the bases in the first, and a single scored in the third.
The West captured the lead in the bottom of the first inning, starting the shutout with Bobby Gray at the plate and his brother clearing the bases with a grand slam when he homered.

In the 5th inning, the West scored big, with a single by Mason Kellerman. Matt Haddad, on a fielder's choice, and an error.
Northwest started the top of the 6th on a lighter note, with a single by Andrew Hall. Bobby Gray earned the win for the West after throwing five and a third innings, and 89 pitches. He allowed zero runs, one hit and struck out seven.
The loss went to Caiden Thomsen of the Northwest, throwing over four innings, allowing eight runs, six hits and striking out six.
Andrew Hall was one for two at the plate for the Northwest, leading that team in hits for the day.
As for the West, six hits went to Joey Gray and Drew Rutter, each with multiple bullets for the West. Drew Rutter and Joey Gray both made the bases at every at bat and the team produced no errors in six innings.
A.J. Gamulao made nine plays, the most of the game.
