Woman Fights Off Purse Snatcher at Ralphs
Police find suspect hiding in a bush after the attempted theft of a woman's purse.
Ariel Carreto, 34, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon after he attempted to steal a woman's purse in front of the in Rancho Santa Margarita.
At 11:49 a.m. the 44-year-old female victim was able to prevent Carreto from taking her purse after a brief struggle, said Lt. Roland Chacon of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Carreto then fled to a nearby apartment complex where deputies later found him hiding in a bush.

Carreto was taken into custody after the victim made a positive identification.
