Man Taken Into Custody After Chase, Crash Hospitalized 2
The driver suspected of DUI crashed into another car on Seaport Blvd. in Redwood City upon leading officers on a chase on Highway 101: CHP.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — A 19-year-old man is in custody after leading the California Highway Patrol on a brief pursuit that led to a head-on crash in Redwood City on Tuesday.
Officers initially stopped Daniel Carlos LomberaFarias for possibly driving under the influence, and when he fled and led officers on a chase as he drove in the wrong direction on the highway.
Two people were hospitalized as a result of the chase that started on Seaport Boulevard in Redwood City on Tuesday morning, according to the CHP.

Officers started chasing the suspect at 11:41 a.m. on U.S. Highway 101 for allegedly speeding and unsafely switching lanes before the suspect caused the collision by driving in the wrong direction.
The suspect was hospitalized with major injuries. A victim in the other vehicle also had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. The suspect, whose name is not yet being released, was booked on suspicion of DUI, and a blood draw is needed to confirm more details, CHP spokesman Officer Art Montiel said.
