Update: Woodside Road Re-opened after Accident Caused Lane Closure

Update at 4:08 p.m.: All lanes have been re-opened as of 3:45 p.m.

The westbound lanes of Woodside Road between Northgate Road and Highway 280 were closed as of 2:30 p.m. due to a serious accident, according to an alert sent by the San Mateo County Alert System.

The area includes west of Woodside High School towards Highway 280 and the city of Woodside.

The Office of Emergency Services recommends avoiding the area and considering alternate routes. Officials estimate that the road will be closed for an extended period of time.

Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the incident and providing traffic control by diverting traffic away from the area.
