Acterra's 50th Anniversary Celebration

Online event commemorating Acterra's 50 years as an environmental nonprofit serving the Peninsula and Bay Area

Acterra 50 years
Acterra 50 years

The first observance of Earth Day on April 22, 1970 was catalyzed by images of environmental catastrophe that seared the public consciousness, including huge oil spills, rivers on fire, and burgeoning mountains of trash. The Bay Area organization that eventually became known as Acterra was also founded on April 22, 1970for the purpose of taking action on environmental problems and connecting with others in the community.

In 2020 Acterra will celebrate its 50th anniversary as a trusted nonprofit that brings people together to create local solutions to big environmental challenges. This festive only-only event will gather together Acterra's extended communityformer and current Acterra supporters, partners, and their friends and familiesin a digital celebration of cherished friendships and the rocky, but rewarding, journey toward environmental progress we have made over the last five decades.

We regret to announce that the in-person attendance at this event has been cancelled due to the growing concerns surrounding coronavirus.
