Acterra's Party for the Planet and Online Auction 2019
Earth Month event to be held April 6th at the San Mateo County History Museum
With Earth Day fast approaching, there are so many special ways for community members to show a little love for the planet. One example is Acterra's annual Party for the Planet benefit event to held on Saturday, April 6th, 2019, at the elegant San Mateo County History Museum in downtown Redwood City, CA. Acterra is a Peninsula environmental nonprofit founded in the same year that the occasion of "Earth Day" was first created, in 1970.
“Party for the Planet expresses our gratitude toward everyone who has supported Acterra’s progress on climate action this year and helped increase our community impact,” said Sudhanshu Jain, President of Acterra’s Board of Directors. This year, the event honors Acterra’s Earth Champion Donors, in a nod to the hundreds of individuals and organizations who have helped sustain Acterra’s climate action programs.
The celebration, held each year during Earth Month, typically draws upwards of 200 attendees, including local government officials, business professionals, philanthropists, and community leaders, and represents Acterra’s signature community-building event.

The evening’s festivities commence at 6:00 pm with silent auction accompanied by wine, beer, and Acterra’s beloved “Cooltini” cocktails. Organic, vegan cuisine will be served up by hometown favorite Catered Too! The party venue, located in downtown Redwood City, is the San Mateo County History Museum, an architectural marvel dating from 1910 which originally served as the County Courthouse. In this unique space, attendees will be invited to bridge past, present, and future. Guests will enjoy after-hours access to the museum's exhibits on local history while viewing interactive displays and demos on the "coming attractions" in sustainable food service, electric vehicles, clean-energy home electrification, and green businesses. Climb into the life-size electric vehicle photo booth and snap a fun pic. A live auction, a “Fund a Future” opportunity, and music and dancing will cap off the evening’s entertainment.
