“Amelia's Restaurant has faced some challenges and had no choice but to close. We understand Amelia's wasn't just a restaurant with awesome pupusas, but a place where families, friends, and co-workers gathered... ate, laughed, had a good time, and helped shape the downtown scene. We would like to thank all of you for your many years of support. On a good note, we are working hard to find another location and re-open Amelia's. If you have any questions feel free to email us at ameliasrestaurant@yahoo.com.”

“This amazing Redwood City institution has been satisfying its customers for a generation (at least 25 years),” said Karen Gernand. “We were so disappointed.”

The restaurant was known for its authentic homestyle Salvadorean food, including pupusas, enchiladas and the homemade fruit drink and tamarindo.

“The plantains here are perfect,” wrote Heather O. from Woodside. “Literally PERFECTION after having sat in a take out box for 20 minutes.  God bless them!”
