California High Speed Rail Meeting On Track For Redwood City
The Aug. 19 open house will review the proposed rail project, which is intended to connect Peninsula residents to Southern California.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Whether maligned or revered, the California High-Speed Rail project is in need of input from San Francisco Peninsula area residents to stay on track with the state's ambitious plans for the 220mph bullet train.
The authority that manages the project in the billions of dollars is hosting an open house on Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. to discuss the two rail sections between Merced and San Jose and onto San Francisco. The state has considered starting the Northern California end before Southern California's that is anchored in San Diego.
In September 2019, staff will present their recommendations to the authority board of directors.

Community feedback is crucial in this process and will be shared with the authority board but does not translate to a preferred alternative for final design or construction.
The public is asked to join staff at the Sequoia High School multi-purpose room at 1201 Brewster Ave.
