REDWOOD CITY, CA — The food delivery service DoorDash is launching a new culinary experiment, with Redwood City as its laboratory.

On Monday, the company unveiled its first-ever brick-and-mortar store, DoorDash Kitchens. The shared space hosts four different restaurant partners: The Halal Guys, Nations Giant Hamburgers, Rooster & Rice and Humphry Slocombe.

Each restaurant will take orders through the DoorDash app, and will offer delivery in seven Bay Area cities: Atherton, Belmont, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Carlos and Woodside.

"We launched DoorDash over six years ago in the Peninsula, and can't wait to bring even more selection to the local community we know and admire," said Fuad Hannon, DoorDash's Head of New Business Verticals, in a press release.

DoorDash will offer free delivery from these locations through the end of the year. Pickup service and group orders are also available.
