DUI Checkpoint Planned On The Peninsula Tonight, CHP Says
The California Highway Patrol's Redwood City office is staffing a DUI/driver's license checkpoint in the region Friday night.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — The California Highway Patrol will staff a DUI/driver's license checkpoint on Friday night somewhere on the Peninsula, the agency announced. The CHP's Redwood City office is holding the operation "to aggressively seek out and remove impaired drivers from the road," Officer Art Montiel said.
The operation is slated to begin at 7 p.m. and last for approximately six hours.
"It is the Department’s goal to use this enforcement tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal collisions that are caused by impaired drivers," Montiel said in a news release. "We are asking the public to designate a driver or arrange transportation to make sure they reach their destination safely."
