Fish Receives Top "Band 1" National Rankings in Chambers USA 2018
Firm's California practice "gives it all"
Fish & Richardson has received top “Band 1” national rankings for its Intellectual Property (IP) practice and its International Trade Commission (ITC) patent litigation practice in the 2018 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Fish also received top rankings for its regional IP and patent prosecution practices in California. Twelve Fish attorneys, including principal Juanita Brooks in San Diego, were selected as IP leaders.
According to Chambers, at Fish’s California office “they do IP well; it is their heart and soul and they give it all. The firm is very proficient in this area and can provide really excellent advice.” The “fantastic” Brooks was noted for being a “true trial litigator” and “a staple in our industry.”
Chambers highlighted Fish’s work for Gilead Sciences in its appellate action against Idenix Pharmaceutical, which affirmed that the client had invented a new hepatitis C treatment. Another notable case was the successful defense of Microsoft in its long-running patent infringement dispute with Parallel Networks Licensing.
