'Great Relief': Redwood City Businesses Expand Under Orange Tier

REDWOOD CITY, CA — For much of the past year, both of Orangetheory Fitness’ studios in Redwood City have been closed.

But with San Mateo County moving into the orange tier this week, allowing gyms to expand to 25 percent capacity, owner Kate Mosley feels a sense of relief for her boutique fitness centers.

“We can allow a few more members to experience the amazing workout as well as start to recoup the revenue that we have not seen in a year,” Mosley said in a statement to Patch. “Even as we move through the tiers we are doing it in a safe way that includes masks and social distancing.”

Other health and wellness businesses recently reopened in Redwood City include Powerhouse Gym Elite, Heartcore and Peacebank Yoga.
