House Erupts In Flames In Los Altos Hills

The fire could be seen from Interstate 280.

LOS ALTOS HILLS, CA -- Smoke from a Los Altos Hills house fire could be seen Saturday from Interstate 280. The fire was reported around 1 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol in Redwood City.

Crews responded to the two-alarm fire that reportedly engulfed a 2,000 square-foot house in the 25000 block of La Rena Lane.

The residents safely escaped from the fire, but one firefighter was injured while battling the blaze. The firefighter was transferred to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries after falling off the single-story roof.

The fire cause remains under investigation but is not considered suspicious, officials said.
