Injury Accident In Redwood City Blocks Lanes On Highway 101

The incident was reported just prior to 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning. The three left lanes were blocked, according to a Sigalert.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — An injury collision on southbound Highway 101 on Friday morning blocked off several lanes and resulted in delays of around 20 minutes, according to a Sigalert.

The incident involving a motorcycle and three other vehicles, which resulted in a fire, occurred near Brittan Avenue. Traffic was backed up to the Ralston Avenue exit.

According to a preliminary CHP report, the motorcycle rider was pinned underneath a vehicle and paramedics were trying to lift the vehicle to free him. He was eventually pulled out, conscious and breathing, according to reports. An ambulance was called to the scene.

The three left lanes were blocked, according to a Sigalert. CHP reports indicated the lanes were reopened shortly after 11 a.m.
