Local Babies Participate In Halloween Parade At Sequoia Hospital
Aren't these kiddos just too cute?!
REDWOOD CITY, CA — From Dignity Health-Sequoia: Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital Wednesday observed one of its most cherished traditions—the annual Pumpkin Party and Parade. The event brings together members of the hospital’s New Parents Support Group and their newborns with Sequoia staff for a Halloween celebration.
“We have been holding this event for more than 30 years,” says Marie Violet, director of Health and Wellness Services at Sequoia Hospital. “It’s a nice opportunity for parents and their little ones to celebrate Halloween in a safe and secure environment. It’s just one of the many ways we like to give back to our wonderful community of Sequoia families.”
Babies and their parents, sporting an array of adorable costumes, enjoyed Halloween-themed refreshments and a parade throughout the hospital, culminating in a visit to the Birth Center. There, families had the opportunity to say hello and give their thanks to the caregivers who brought their babies into the world.

The Sequoia Hospital New Parents Support Group is a free, drop-in group meeting weekly to provide parents with a relaxed environment where they can share their experiences. The group addresses early child and parent development issues through discussions, speakers, and special events.
“We know there are many new parents out there who would like to connect with other parents and their babies, but aren’t quite sure how to go about it,” says New Parents Support Group Facilitator Karen Smith, RN, IBCLC. “Our New Parents Support Group is open to all moms and dads, whether they gave birth at Sequoia or not. It’s an important part of our mission—to extend humankindness to all in our community.”
