1 Dead In El Camino Real Crash After Bus Strikes Pedestrian
UPDATED: Officials say a woman was hit while walking in the area.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — One person was killed in a crash on El Camino Real in Redwood City after a SamTrans bus struck a pedestrian, San Mateo County Transit District officials say. The incident was reported around 8:45 a.m. along El Camino Real at James Avenue, near Caltrain’s Sequoia Station in downtown Redwood City.
A 70-year-old woman was fatally hit in the incident, according to Agency Spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew.
"During the time of the incident, there were four passengers onboard the ECR bus, with no other reported injuries," she said.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Transit Police Bureau and Redwood City police responded to the scene and are urged motorists to steer clear of the area for several hours. El Camino Real was closed in both directions until about 1 p.m.
