REDWOOD CITY, CA — A man pleaded not guilty to a burglary charge in connection with an incident at a Redwood City preschool last week.
The suspect, 41-year-old Oscar Dario Banegas, has four other open felony burglary or drug cases. According to the San Mateo County prosecutors, Banegas was found asleep in the baby room of St. Michael Preschool in Redwood City by the school’s director. When she woke him up, Banegas told her to “chill out” and that he sleeps at the school all the time, prosecutors said.
Surveillance footage reviewed by the school’s director showed Banegas walking around the school and her office, and $500 was stolen, according to prosecutors.
