REDWOOD CITY, CA — A new restaurant has spiced up Redwood City.

Masala Desi Café, which opened Feb. 4 at 2137 Roosevelt Ave., is marketing itself to health-conscious customers with an appetite for the bold flavors of South Asia.

The restaurant wrote on its Facebook page that it aims “to bring the essence of Indian spices to food and drinks. Indian cuisine created using a variety of spices known for its bold and complex flavors.”

Some of the restaurant’s offerings include a curry burrito, made with juicy butter chicken or paneer butter masala wrapped in soft naan bread with greens salad, and butter chicken with garlic naan.
