North Fair Oaks COVID Vaccinations Available Through Saturday
Community members can be vaccinated without an appointment at KIPP Excelencia Community Prep in Redwood City.
NORTH FAIR OAKS, CA — North Fair Oaks residents can receive a free COVID-19 vaccination this week at KIPP Excelencia Community Prep through a partnership with the charter school and San Mateo County.
Vaccinations are available on Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
No appointment is required and there are limited doses available. The vaccinations are limited to members of the North Fair Oaks community only. Residents aged 65 and older and in-home supportive services workers will be prioritized, according to a flyer.

Beginning on Thursday, people 50 and older can sign up for vaccinations in California. On April 15, anyone 16 and older will become eligible.
North Fair Oaks, an unincorporated area bordering Redwood City, has a large Latino population and is home to many essential workers. As of Thursday, 35.2 percent of its residents had been vaccinated, according to the county’s dashboard, which trails the overall mark of 43.4 percent across the county.

Last week, the county announced that it planned to shift its focus away from mass vaccination sites and toward communities in need with targeted vaccination clinics.
"We continue to place a strong focus on equity," said Louise Rogers, the chief of San Mateo County Health, in a news release earlier this week. "That means getting the vaccine directly to those communities that face the greatest challenges and the greatest barriers in accessing vaccination sites."
KIPP Excelencia Community Prep is located at 2950 Fair Oaks Avenue in Redwood City.
