One Dead In Multi-Vehicle Crash On Highway 101 In Redwood City
The crash blocked four lanes on the highway near Woodside Road. All lanes were open by 6:45 a.m.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — One person died after a multi-vehicle accident on northbound Highway 101 in Redwood City near Woodside Road early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred just before 4 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, a third vehicle slammed into a pickup truck facing the wrong way after the truck had collided with a minivan in an earlier crash. The head-on collision killed the driver of the truck, according to CHP.
The accident backed up traffic for several hours on the highway and closed all but one lane.

CHP didn't elaborate on what caused the accidents. The lanes were reopened around 6:45 a.m.
