Peninsula Clean Energy To Fund EV Charging Ports In Redwood City
The agency will provide up to $248K toward the installation of 124 electric vehicle charging ports in a new Redwood City parking structure.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Peninsula Clean Energy, which provides electricity for San Mateo County, is providing up to $248,000 toward the installation of 124 electric vehicle charging ports in a new Redwood City parking structure.
According to a news release Tuesday, it’s the first and among the largest funding under the EV Ready program, which has a goal of installing 3,500 charging ports in the county in the next four years.
"The County has committed to achieving carbon neutrality from its operations by 2035,” said David Canepa, president of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, in a news release. “Installing EV chargers is one of many investments that will need to be made to transition our polluting gas vehicles to clean electric vehicles. The partnership with Peninsula Clean Energy is helping the County make deep emissions reductions."
